Tempeh is a nutrient dense, vegetarian protein made from fermented soybeans. It is a great meat substitute you can eat in salads, sandwiches, served over rice or quinoa, and paired with roasted veggies!
I love making tempeh in my air fryer, because it is so simple and quick to prepare.

4 oz tempeh, cut into small squares
1/4 c sesame or olive oil
1 tbs tamari or soy sauce
1 tbs maple syrup
2 cloves garlic minced
1/4 tsp garlic powder, paprika, & black pepper
Mix all ingredients except tempeh together in a small bowl. Add tempeh and marinate it for 10-20 minutes.
Line your air fryer basket with parchment paper. After tempeh is done marinating, toss tempeh into basket and cook at 350 for 10 minutes.
You can switch up this recipe by trying different spice combinations! For example, pair Italian herbs such as oregano, basil, and thyme with olive oil and vinegar for an Italian seasoned tempeh.
