Golden Milk Latte

This recipe is one of my favorite go to's when my body is feeling stressed, overwhelmed, or when I'm ready to unwind. Turmeric is an anti-inflammatory powerhouse due to the curcumin compound. Curcumin is made more bioavailable when taken with fat (see coconut milk) and black pepper which is why you can find both in the recipe below! It has been shown to help arthritis, joint pain, and inflammation. Since most imbalances in the body start with inflammation, turmeric is a fantastic herb to incorporate into your daily routine. Sipping on this warm latte before bed is a great start.  

Ingredients

1 and 1/2 cups hot water

1/2 cup canned coconut milk

1 tbs  ground turmeric

1 tbs raw honey

1/2 tsp cinnamon

1/4 tsp ground ginger

sprinkle of ground pepper


Directions

Heat water in a tea kettle until hot. Meanwhile add milk, honey, and spices into blender. Add hot water and blend until smooth.
